If we look at the bridal make up in both western countries or in eastern countries the rapid change can be easily perceived. In their dressing, in their make up the traces of change can be easily seen. They are not interested in the typical traditional ethnic look like earlier. They are flaunting the traditional look but with some intricate styling variations. Hairstyle also includes in this category. Brides are not only opting for a traditional looking braided plait or a bun with same jasmine flowers around it. But now Indian brides experiment not only with their looks, wedding dresses and jewelries but also with their hairstyles. It is seen that every bride prefers a hair do that is simple but at the same time which emphasis its uniqueness. It is very important to watch out if the style goes with your dress and make up. So, discuss with your hair stylist and make a trial sitting and look how it looks. Here are some hairstyles matching face cutting and structure. Follow these tips and apply the right one.

If the bride has round face, then by adding height on the top of the head and adding extra fullness across the forehead with the sides close to the head or behind the ears can look good. You can flaunt some small hair casually hanging besides your ears. Face with diamond shape can also try this out as round face cutting and diamond face cutting match with each other. Heart shaped face can be complimentary with a hair do, which is full at the jaw line, and the hair should be done slightly off centre. Please remember your check bones and chins determine your hairstyle. To make it a hit it’s very important.

If anyone has long shaped face then she can opt for an updo. It should not be big, elaborate like old Hindi movie heroine but simple and fresh. Updo hairstyle is a hit hairstyle today as it can be adorned with flowers and jewelry and Indian brides are liking it. Wear an updo and loosen some hair around your face and your forehead.

If any one has oval face then it is very easy to apply any kind of style because she can wear any style. For looking fresh and flaunting your long hair you may keep your hair down but on your wedding day please make sure your hair is extra voluminous and wide. So, it is advisable that try bun, updo surrounded by flowers, pearls or ribbon. A lower Bun can add extra softness to your face on your wedding bash. You can be creative with this style, which is traditional as well as new. Lower bun or soft or messy bun are very much popular now. Fresh and colorful orchids, roses or frangipanis can be used instead of jasmine or rajnigandha. To add glamour to your wedding bun hairstyle, you can use a tiaras or veils to complement the wedding hairstyle. The wedding hairstyle can include decorative beads and jewels that match with the color scheme of the dress. Notice that the look emphasizes simplicity – the wedding hairstyle is not weighed down with too much jewelry adornments.

Ergoline tanning beds are found in many prestigious tanning salons and one of the most popular brands in the tanning world.  They have a proven track record and always satisfy tanning clients.

Ergoline Tanning Bed at Akasha Spa and Salon

Ergoline Tanning Bed at Akasha Spa and Salon

The prestige series in the Ergoline tanning bed line has the ability to mist water on the face at selected intervals. This is a nice refresher, as we are all aware how stifling it can become in other tanning beds. The environment is climate controlled and comfortable with rests for the arms and the feet. Additionally, it has the capability to have an mp3 player attached to the bed to give the tanner their personal selection of music.

Next, is the advantage series of Ergoline tanning beds and is available in super power or turbo power. There is extra power around the face so the tanner can receive the ultimate tan – this is one of the best tanning beds available on the market for the pricing point that it comes with.

The Affinity series is available in three models; the 500, 600 and 800. The glass is filtered to optimize the UV output and therefore results in a more even, quicker, tan. The voice guide contains all of the controls to listen to music and adjust your tanning experience.

Lastly, is the open sun series of Ergoline tanning. They are made to encompass the feeling of the open sun and no longer enclosed tanning. The turbo lights create a powerful UV environment, optimizing the tan – no more claustrophobia while using open sun! This is the most forward of the line, bringing us into the future of tanning.

The Ergoline tanning system is used at Akasha Spa and Salon in Salt Lake City, Utah.  To schedule an appointment, call the Akasha Spa and Salon at 801.364.3330

    Online Feature: Attachment Therapy
    Spa business in the family
    by Emily Rodriguez-Vargas

Can you picture yourself working with your mom, every day, for years? Together with their mom, Pamela Manka, the sisters Breelynn Bailey and Shannaleigh Huish, own the Akasha Day Spa & Salon. And they have a party. They say it’s like working with your best friend.

Breelynn and Pamela, Akasha Spa and Salon

Breelynn and Pamela, Akasha Spa and Salon

Before starting the Akasha Spa seven years ago, Breelynn and Pamela managed a construction business together. When Shannaleigh got her training in esthetics in L.A., they decided to get into the beauty and wellness business themselves and start their own spa. “The second time around,” laughs Breelynn, “you learn.”

In this business group, cooperating and sharing responsibilities are vital. Before moving to North Carolina, Shannaleigh had overseen skin care at Akasha. Breelynn specializes in massage therapy and nails, and Pam oversees and entertains the employees and clients. Together, they are a team.

Surprisingly, Akasha’s location on 331 East 400 South wasn’t always a center for wellness. Before the family purchased the building, it was actually used as a tire shop. A lot of remodeling later, the shop was transformed.

Now, unique corridors with stones leading the way, cozy pedicure seats, candle-lit and scented massage rooms, sauna and steam room occupy the space. In their boutique, one can find anything from stylish and funky accessories to spa products and make-up. On warmer days, the former garage door to the hair salon is opened, letting clients enjoy the sunlight and fresh air.

Massage is the practice of soft tissue manipulation with physical, functional, and in some cases psychological purposes and goals.  The word comes from the French massage “friction of kneading,” or from Arabic massa meaning “to touch, feel or handle” or from Latin massa meaning “mass, dough”. An older etymology may even have been the Hebrew me-sakj “to anoint with oil”. In distinction the ancient Greek word for massage was anatripsis, and the Latin was frictio.

Massage involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, forearm, and feet. There are over eighty different recognized massage modalities.  The most cited reasons for introducing massage as therapy have been client demand and perceived clinical effectiveness.

In professional settings massage involves the client being treated while lying on a massage table, sitting in a massage chair, or lying on a mat on the floor. The massage subject may be fully or partly unclothed. Parts of the body may be covered with towels or sheets.

    Why get a pedicure?

    May 22, 2009

Based on information we found at wikipedia:

    Pedicure, Salt Lake City, Utah

    Pedicure, Salt Lake City, Utah

A pedicure is a way to improve the appearance of the feet and their nails. It provides a similar service as a manicure. The word pedicure comes from the Latin words pedis, which means of the foot, and cura, which means care. It also means the care of the feet and toenails. A pedicure can help prevent nail diseases and nail disorders. Pedicures are not just limited to nails; usually dead skin cells on the bottom of feet are rubbed off using a rough stone called a pumice stone.

Ever wish you could have longer hair or even thicker hair than what you have? Well in today’s world, you can now do that without waiting for your hair to grow on its own. This is called hair extensions. This is something that is commonly done for many women to get longer or thicker hair. If you have hair extensions done, make sure to get it done by a professional and as long as you do, they will stay in your hair for up to 3 months. Hair extensions are harmless to your hair. This hairstyle is done by simply applying strands of human hair or synthetic materials that look and feel like hair to your natural hair. The hair extensions are placed on your hair with glue bonding or fusion.

This is again, harmless to your hair. If you decide to take the hair extensions out before they are ready to come out, the professional will simply use an application that will turn the adhesive to a powder and the extensions will simply come right out with no harm done to your natural hair.

For more information on Hair Extensions, please contact Breelyn or Brittany at 801.364.3330
